Member of the Flintshire County Council for the Broncoed Ward of Mold
My father’s final RAF posting to RAF Sealand marked the beginning of my connection with Mold, a connection that has now spanned more than half a century. What started as a childhood move gradually became a lifelong commitment to the town and its community.
Over the years, life in Mold has been shaped by both personal and professional milestones. I raised my daughter here, watching her grow within the same community that has given me so much. My career as a teacher at Alun School allowed me to contribute directly to the development of local young people, many of whom have gone on to play their own part in the town’s future.
Beyond my professional life, I have always believed in being actively involved in the community. This has taken many forms over the years, including stewarding at local events, helping to organise community activities and working alongside others to raise much needed funds for a range of charitable causes. These experiences have not only strengthened my ties to Mold but have also highlighted the generosity and resilience of its people.
It has been a genuine privilege to serve Mold more formally in recent years, first as a Town Councillor for nine years and as a County Councillor for four. These roles have given me the opportunity to represent residents, support local initiatives and contribute to decisions that shape the town’s future. Serving the community in this way has been both an honour and a responsibility, one that I have approached with commitment and pride.
